This section is about reading a paragraph. You have 40 seconds to prepare and in the next 40 seconds, you have to record your read aloud. The passage may be small, medium or big. You may have a few difficult words which we have never encountered before. (Maybe people who read novels have already known them)
TIPS:
- Watch the English news channel for 15 minutes daily
- Try to read a passage in the new paper for 5 minutes daily.
TRICKS:
- In the first 40 seconds please do read aloud the entire paragraph.
- When you are done if you are left with more than 5 seconds, then check on the difficult word and repeat it twice or thrice depending on your time.
- Try to finish the paragraph in 25-27 seconds so that you can follow the same pace entire exam. If the passage is small try to finish in 17-18 seconds.
- Just follow the intonations only when there are a full stop and comma.
- There will be a beep for this task to begin your recording.
- Don’t read with too much artificial intonation, mainly read like a news reader.
- On the exam day, when you are waiting in the hall you will be provided with the exam center instruction to read before entering the exam.
- Try reading 3-5 lines thinking it as a passage for reading aloud. Just to set your mind.
